クスクスは食(た)べたことないよ。

若(わか)い頃(ころ)ってさぁ、結(けっ)婚(こん)式(しき)に行(い)くのが嫌(いや)で嫌(いや)でたまらなかったわ。おばあちゃんや叔母(おば)さんたちがさぁ、寄(よ)って集(つど)って私(わたし)の脇(わき)腹(ばら)を突(つ)いては「次(つぎ)はあんたの番(ばん)よ！あんたの！」なんて言(い)いながら、クスクス笑(わら)うのよ。私(わたし)がさぁ、葬(そう)式(しき)で同(おな)じことし始(はじ)めたらさぁ、あの人(ひと)たち、やっとこのくだらないことをやめてくれたわ。

• When I was younger, I hated going to weddings. My grandmothers and aunts would huddle around me, poke me in the side, and giggle "You're next! You're next!" They only stopped this nonsense when I began to do the same thing at funerals.
